English for the Oposición Exams
Preparing for the Oposición requires more than simply advanced language knowledge—it demands the ability to summarise, discuss, and write about complex, topical issues clearly, accurately, and at native level.
Because each Oposición specialism has its own format and topical requirements, my approach for the English part of the exam does not rely on a single textbook. Instead, I combine:
C2 English Practice Book — to ensure your English is suitable for high-level written and spoken tasks.
Current Articles and Sources — from reputable journals, magazines, and websites (e.g. The Economist, Ap News, Reuters, Politico Europe, and similar), tailored to your chosen specialism and recent developments.
This combination helps you:
Expand and refine topic-specific vocabulary
Develop the analytical and critical language needed for essays and presentations
Practise summarising, mediation, and discursive writing to exam standards
Whether your Oposición involves diplomacy, commerce, economics, or another field, I’ll help you build the language confidence and topical knowledge required for success.
